In the summer of 2020, political tensions in Pizza Town reached their boiling point. After years of rule, the once lauded Pizza Party was slowly revealed to be the impotent, spineless political party that it is, unable and unwilling to address real-world problems with meaningful policy and action.

Capitalizing on the frustrations of the citizenry, the once laughable far-right Burger Party emerged with a compelling counter-narrative to the banal platitudes of the Pizza Party, which eventually culminated in the ousting of the leader of the Pizza Party. This created a power vacuum in the political landscape allowing the Burger Party to seize control of the government in a violent cIoup, establishing an authoritarian state in Pizza Town. The first thing to close were the pizzarias. Where once there were many, now there is but one: Olive and Motor Oil, last remaining pizzeria in town, the last bastion of freedom in a dying city, the lone defenders of cheese and dough.
